THIS RETREAT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO 2013
Today I had the sad duty of saying goodbye to one of First Baptist Church’s very faithful members, Sis. Carol Davis. Carol was one of those members that was everywhere – she served faithfully as a Trustee, Choir Member, Sunday School Member, Mid-Week Bible Study attendee, etc. until her health would not allow her to. Carol was not only a member of the church, she was our neighbor and when Jessica and I moved to Frankfort, she was the first person to greet us as we arrived. Her passing’s impact on our church will be tremendous and we stand ready to minister to her husband, Billy and her daughters Monique, Carla and the entire extended family. She fought cancer bravely than anyone I’ve ever met, for the past three years. I don’t ever recall hearing her complain and she was always believing that the Lord’s presence was with her. Carol had the rare ability to turn a hospital room into a sanctuary and she pastored her area at the Markey Cancer Center. The staff loved her, her attitude, and her optimism. I’m saddened tonight by her passing, but I will see her in the morning . . . in that great, getting up morning.
