47% of Us Don’t Matter to Mitt Romney

One of the last things to happen to the Titanic before it completely sank was the efforts of the ship’s band. While people where jumping to their deaths, running around, screaming – the band continued to play on. The band reminds me of Mitt Romney and by association, the GOP. They have declared that 47% of us really don’t matter.

I will not put words into his mouth.  Here are his words, recorded by an informant to Mother Jones News verbatim:

‘‘There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what,’’ Romney is shown saying in the video of a May 17 fundraiser in Boca Raton, Fla. ‘‘There are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it.’’

Mr. Romney’s comments display either a staggering deficiency in his humanity or ravenous stupidity as a Presidential Candidate. Former President Bill Clinton said it best last week: mathematics. How can you expect to run as a candidate when you have not only discounted 47% of the electorate and then on top of that, declare that same block as “government dependent.” Mathematics: most of that bloc pays taxes, yes, generates refunds in some cases, but that is the fault of the tax code, not individuals. Every year since I can remember, taxpayers loan our government, interest free funds to operate with and a percentage receives a refund due to investments, housing, medical, etc. that stirs the engine of the economy.

However, the 47% is really code-speak for the GOP.  They really mean blacks, hispanics, and other minorities and those they have idealogical and social problems with – they don’t matter to the GOP. I have a solution, how about the 47% plus those who were insulted including Independents, Reagan Democrats and Independents Republicans KEEP OUR COUNTRY and keep the GOP as far away from the nation’s leadership as the Bull Moose Party.
