The Lord has called home the Reverend Boris Carter of Lexington, Kentucky, the former pastor of the Dividing Ridge Missionary Baptist Church of Mayo, Kentucky and brother of Dr. Bishop Carter, III, Moderator of the Consolidated District Baptist Association of Lexington.

“CARTER Rev. Boris “Tink” Gerard was born May 5, 1958 in Lexington, Kentucky. The Lord knowing he was tired gave him blessed peace October 1, 2012. He was the son of Rev. Bishop E. Carter II and the late Anna Belle Carter. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at the First Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. Homer E. Nutter and was ordained to preach the Gospel, May 3, 1991, under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. L. H. McIntyre. The Lord blessed him to pastor Dividing Ridge Baptist Church, Mayo, KY from 1991 to 2006. He was a proud graduate of Bryan Station High School, Kentucky State University, and Simmons Bible College. He retired in 2005 from the Fayette County School System after 18+ years of service. His last assignment was at Bryan Station Senior High School where he mentored and befriended numerous students and staff. He was a faithful member and Associate Minister of First African Baptist Church. He deeply loved his church, church family and was willing to serve in any capacity. His numerous affiliations include the Consolidated Baptist District Association, the General Association of Kentucky Baptist, the Ministerial Fellowship Organization of Lexington, the Ministers and Deacons Meeting, Bryan Station and Kentucky State University Alumni Associations. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Laverne Raglin Carter; two daughters that were his heart, Jessica Laverne and Camille AnnaBelle; one brother, Rev. Dr. Bishop E. Carter III (Brenda); mother-in-law Mrs. Jessie Raglin; a host of special uncles and aunts; sisters-in-law Carolyn Belmar and Sharon (William) Braboy; brothers-in-law Charles, Floyd and Danny Raglin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, Sis. Emma Burdell and special friends. Funeral Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 1pm. visitation 11am at First African Baptist church. Services by Smith & Smith.
