Pastor Robert Earl Houston
Bio: Robert Earl Houston, 57, is the pastor of the Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was one of the first African-American baptist pastors to utilize the internet for providing information and ministry. He is a nationally known preacher and teacher. Denominationally he has been a member of all four of the traditional National Baptist Conventions and has served as a Vice-Moderator, State President, and National Assistant to the President; Currently, he is a member of the Missionary Baptist Ministers Union of St. Louis and Vicinity; the Berean Missionary Baptist District Association, the Missionary Baptist State Convention of Missouri, and the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A., Incorporated. He is the former Editor/Chairman of the American Baptist Newspaper, one of the oldest African-American publications in the nation. He has written articles for numerous publications and newspapers and his photographs have appeared in numerous articles. After 42 years of ministry, he is considered to be one of the leading historians and commentators on the Black Church. He is married to Jessica Georgette Houston.
